Job Overview
Devonshire Recruiting & Consulting Partners is looking for a Director of Information Technology and Infrastructure. The ideal fit for this role will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of the organization’s IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of critical systems and services. In addition, the Director of IT Infrastructure will play a key role in planning, executing, and maintaining the company’s technology strategy while overseeing a team of IT professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the IT infrastructure strategy of the organization, ensuring alignment with the company’s objectives and priorities.
- Design, implement, and manage the organization’s network, servers, storage, and other IT infrastructure components to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
- Oversee the management and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including hardware and software upgrades, patches, and security updates.
- Collaborate with other IT leaders and stakeholders to identify and prioritize infrastructure needs, and develop appropriate solutions and initiatives.
- Manage and develop a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to foster growth and development.
- Serve on IT planning and policy-making committees, driving the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes, and performance metrics to ensure IT delivers value to the enterprise.
- Develop and maintain IT infrastructure policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Monitor and assess the performance and capacity of the IT infrastructure, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues before they become critical.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating and recommending new tools and solutions as appropriate.
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products and services.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plan, ensuring the organization can quickly recover from potential disruptions.
- Evaluate, appraise performance, reward, and discipline employees, address complaints, and resolve problems.
- Make hiring decisions and design individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science is preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in IT is required.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience managing a team of direct reports is required.
- A diversified background of technical infrastructure experience and demonstrated project management acumen, excellent vendor management skills, and a superior service-oriented approach to infrastructure engineering are required.
- Experience managing the Microsoft 365 suite in an enterprise business environment is required.
- Life Sciences background (healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.) is preferred.
