Job Description:
Reporting to the CFO you will provide project level accounting support to R&D Project Managers to track actual costs versus budget, change orders, earned value calculations, and provide the primary interface with portfolio accounting department. The position is responsible for generating financial forecasts and annual budgeting for the R&D organization and will work with accounts receivable on client billing and payment related issues.
Responsibilities:
- Work with project managers to gather information and prepare booking sheets for project start up and communication with project and accounting teams. Prepare basic purchase order and equipment logs as needed.
- Work with the project managers to prepare billings on construction contracts to our customers with required back up documentation. Invoice styles will include: AIA with schedule of values, T&M invoices with/or without back-up, and internal intra-company billings.
- Assist project managers with various job performance tracking requirements of costs compared to budgets, labor performance, etc.
- Track and price field change orders for project managers.
- In conjunction with the billing functions, prepare wavers of lien, minority participation, payroll and other required billing documents per the contracts.
- Coordinate with collections, contracts, and accounts payable personnel other required customer documents, lien waivers etc., as needed to fulfill requirements for payment of invoices.
- Work with project managers, company executives and estimating teams, to prepare rate schedules for use in proposals to our customers.
- Periodically update time and material labor cost and customer billing rate sheets.
- Provide back-up assistance to the AP purchasing department on an as needed basis.
- Provide assistance in the collection process of invoices for select contract customer group.
- Other projects as assigned.Specific Requirements:
- Associates Degree or higher education with emphasis on Accounting, Business or Construction Management
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & Powerpoint)Qualifications/Skills:
- Self-motivated and driven to work independently with minimum supervision
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
- Four+ (4) years accounting experience
- Position requires strong analytical ability, good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Technical accounting skills, and understanding of GAAP
- Ability to work in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word and Access, are required
- Position requires ability to deal effectively and harmoniously with people at all levels of the organization and to represent the firm professionally
