Devonshire Recruiting & Consulting Partners is looking for a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. This critical leadership role will be required to report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The ideal fit will be responsible for leading the financial planning and reporting functions of the field operations team, employing advanced financial management techniques tailored to the senior living industry. Additionally, will play a pivotal role in leveraging information technology to support and monitor the execution of senior living operations strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Leadership & Strategy:
    • Lead the financial planning and analysis function, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning to support strategic initiatives and business decision-making.
    • Act as a key finance business partner to the leadership team, collaborating closely with the VP of Operations to ensure financial alignment with business objectives.
    • Conduct high-impact analyses of business results, identifying trends, variances, and potential opportunities, and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership for business growth and operational efficiency.
  2. Training & Development:
    • Develop and deliver a training curriculum for new community and regional leaders to enhance their financial acumen, covering budgeting/forecasting, SOPs, and other critical financial metrics.
  3. Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, develop, and oversee a team of analysts and managers, providing strategic financial support for regional and community teams across Operations, Sales, Clinical, Maintenance, and Dining departments.
    • Establish clear goals and expectations, provide constructive feedback, and encourage open dialogue to help team members reach their full potential.
  4. Financial Analysis & Reporting:
    • Oversee comprehensive financial analysis and modeling to support business decisions, and identify cost optimization, revenue enhancement, and margin improvement opportunities through scenario modeling.
    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure financial and operational performance, and implement best practices to improve financial efficiency and profitability.
    • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, collaborate across the organization to support critical strategic decision-making, and provide financial transparency to operations leadership through real-time analysis.
  5. Technology & Process Improvement:
    • Assist operations and liaise with Information Technology on the buildout of business intelligence data sets for easy real-time analysis of senior living operations.
    • Continuously improve FP&A processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and value-add of the function.
    • Ensure the organization has the right reporting capabilities to deliver real-time KPI measurement.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise the FP&A team, hiring and retaining talent aligned with organizational goals and mission.
  • Build strong, collaborative teams and lead by example, setting clear goals and expectations, and fostering a culture of open communication and continuous development.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
  • Experience: 10 to 15 years of related experience in financial management, with a strong preference for experience in multi-unit senior living operations.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong financial management and business acumen.
    • Exceptional communication proficiency and ethical conduct.
    • Proven leadership, performance management, and strategic thinking abilities.
    • Proficient problem-solving and analysis skills.
    • Familiarity with core financial and operations systems such as Workday, DOMO, OnShift, Salesforce, and PointClickCare.
    • Highly proficient with Excel.
