Job Overview

The Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of financial information pertaining to product and service revenues, along with associated costs, to fulfill both internal and external reporting requirements. This role involves overseeing revenue recognition processes, driving process improvements, implementing automation and data analytics, and supporting emerging revenue streams.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Revenue Recognition Oversight:
  • Review customer contracts, change orders, SOWs, and purchase agreements to ensure compliance with ASC 606.
  • Supervise billing activities to ensure precise and prompt invoicing; collaborate with Sales and Organ Program Director Teams.
  • Scrutinize accounting memos and supporting schedules for comprehensive documentation and alignment with technical accounting conclusions.


  • Month-end Close Management:
  • Lead the month-end close process for revenue and costs of revenue, ensuring adherence to US GAAP and internal policies.
  • Develop accounting policies and processes for new revenue streams and enhance existing processes through automation.


  • Team Management and Development:
  • Manage and provide guidance to a team of 1-2 revenue accountants.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.


  • Financial Reporting Support:
  • Assist in preparing supporting schedules and commentary for SEC filings quarterly/annually.
  • Address ad hoc executive requests related to revenue performance, trends, and strategic decisions.


  • Audit Collaboration:
  • Support internal and external audits by timely submission of schedules and responses to inquiries.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 6-8 years of Revenue Recognition accounting experience, with preference for Medical Device or Big 4 Accounting Firm background.
  • 2-3 years of progressive management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of ASC 606.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills; experience with PowerBI or similar tools is advantageous.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across different functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPA qualification is strongly preferred but not required.
