Senior Product Owner


$150k + Bonus

Job Description:

The Product Owner will manage multiple scrum teams operating to provide program increments relative to content thread.  Proven track record for delivering complex UX and e-commerce customer journeys at pace and approve or discard in terms of technology readiness. To provide leadership and clear direction for the team to ensure the delivery and documentation of work within the consented timelines, cost plans, quality, and safety standards; and within a risk profile that fully supports operating to the highest SHES standards to ensure company goals are met and that delivery of work is aligned with company objectives, strategies, and policies.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work along with management to guarantee that organizational goals are transmitted to the team and that group focus is consistent with corporate strategy, direction, and growth objectives
  • Lead, motivate and develop the team of scrum professionals, assign resources, and deliver the required training and coaching to build up a performance-based culture, assuring that results are delivered in line with expectations and business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to team members to ensure their effective development to meet their personal aspirations and future business needs.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders such as consultants, procurement, and the business teams to share best practices, identify potential new projects, and liaise with other working areas during project progression.
  • Promote a culture of constant improvement and value for money by challenging current processes, methods of project and scheme costing, and cost control.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with all internal stakeholders both inside and outside of their own organization.
  • Develop and utilize peer group network to absorb and apply technical/professional best practices within own area of specialism.
  • Lead the project and program initiation process by supporting the execution of the program charter and objectives, developing assumptions, identifying all risks, calculating resource requirements, and managing all interdependencies with other programs of the company so that overlaps are eliminated, and all transitions are as seamless as possible.
  • Work alongside process owners, management, and peer Managers to identify and execute business process improvement and best practices in a consistent manner; and remain up-to-date on changing technologies and industry best practices.

Knowledge & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications (desirably) or equivalent experience/professional qualification in Marketing/Communications.
  • Fluent in web marketing and online communication channels and tools to perform the delivery of effective customer communications.
  • Typically requires at least 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the subject area.
  • Overall understanding of the company’s operations and the regulatory environment influencing utility construction.
  • Experience in leading, inspiring, and motivating an operational team.
