Devonshire Recruiting & Consulting Partners is currently looking for a Senior Back-End Developer who has experience with developing complex, highly scalable solutions that incorporate many technologies and is easily maintained and extensible.  The ideal candidate will support the designing and implementing a full life-cycle of back-end adapters and services which are visualized in our client’s UI.  Experience building backend capabilities composed of multiple moving parts and are accessed utilized via APIs and SDKs.

Responsibilities:

• Build fast and easy to use middleware for a complicated environment with a diverse user population
• Architect reusable back-end components and abstractions, evolving the design system
• Manage projects/tasks in an Agile Scrum environment
• Passionately research trends and best practices as well as emerging technologies, and leverage finding on a day to day basis
• Articulate reasons behind important design decisions, give and take constructive feedback
• Be confident and proud of your work and have a willing to do what it takes attitude to get the job done

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of back-end development experience
• Strong understanding of SQL databases such as SQLite, MySQL, PostgreSQL, CockroachDB and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, and experience with writing abstraction layers to communicate with the database
• Languages:  Python, Golang, C/C++
• Virtualization Technologies: KVM, OpenStack, VMWare
• Cloud Environments: AWS and Azure
• Container workload placement: Docker, Kubernetes
• Automation Tools:  Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Cobbler, Salt Foreman, MAAS
• Environment: Familiarity with Grunt/Gulp/Webpack, NPM, Linting, Git, CI/CD, etc.
• Databases:  SQLite, MySQL, PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, MongoDB
• Ability to pass a competency assessment for coding
• Experience with gRPC, protobufs, NETCONF/RESTCONF is a plus
• Understanding of networking knowledge such as BGP, ISIS, SNMP, TCP/IP, UDP is a plus
• Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, RHEL/CentOS, SUSE, Fedora, Debian is also a plus
