Devonshire Recruiting and Consulting Partners is current seeking a VP of Business Operations. This is a Vice President-level executive position reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The position entails working both directly with senior executive peers, while having multiple manager level leaders reporting to you directly.
This individual will be working in a fast-paced agile development environment and will work with various internal teams. The Candidate should have a strong business acumen and proven experience working within a SaaS specialized vertical (ideally within the healthcare or genomics space, as our client user base is predominantly clinicians specializing in genomics).
Translate, implement and communicate strategic vision of senior executives to tangible and operational road maps for teams across the entire company, while prioritizing missions, based on available resources, budget constraints and company’s business goals. This role requires operational oversight over the performance of product development, customer success, marketing and business development teams, as well as business office operations. Your role will be to set clear operational targets and goals, with clear KPIs and measure performance regularly and hold teams accountable for their deliverables, while keeping the day-to-day operations running smoothly and allocate relevant resources required to complete such deliverables (admin, logistics, HR, finance and legal).
Career Management Experience
- 10-12 years of experience in a dynamic customer and field operational focused role leading multiple operational teams
- Executive presence is required
- Experience in a rapidly growing medium sized business along with a corporate-like structure
- Significant management skills with the ability to hire, develop, mentor and retain employees
- Define and implement effective management structures and systems, establish and uphold high-performance standards and hold team accountable for results
- High importance is placed for you to be highly adaptable to change
- Ability to work well under pressure and juggle multiple priorities
- Demonstrated skill running effective meetings and getting buy-in and participation from executive leaders
- Ability to provide support indirectly/in matrix managed resources
Skills
- Strong background and knowledge of business operations processes and workflows
- Strong analytical background of KPIs to provide strategic thought leadership
- Detail oriented with strong attention on designing and implementing operational initiatives
- Ability to listen, has strong emotional intelligence, is kind and has empathy, and understands people well
- Ability to work well with a wide variety of people and stakeholders at various levels; and across the organization
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, as well as data analytics, spreadsheets and databases and project management tools
- Strong focus on collaboration, team building, and customer service
- Effectiveness working diplomatically across teams with varying objectives
- Well organizational and planning skills
- Familiarity with project governance, project reviews, steering, and other project related meetings is a key
Degree
- Master’s Degree in Business, Management, Finance or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is required.
