Our Client recently went through a Zero-Based Review (ZBR) effort within our corporate organization to identify and plan significant opportunities to enhance our customer’s experience while reducing our cost to serve.

The Director of the ZBR Program Management Office (PMO) leads the development and implementation of program management and value realization office (VRO) activities over the major initiatives for the ZBR Program within the Company.  This comprises the development of procedures and methodologies for the PMO to provide for the timely and fiscally responsible completion of projects by adding transparency to program status, escalating risk and issues properly, managing the overall performance of those responsible for delivering on workstream milestones and deliverables, tracking resource costs, establishing accountability for program, success and ensuring the full execution of the Company’s best practices for Program Management. The PMO is responsible for the delivery of the enablement program cost, scope, schedule, and results.

Recurring communication with the Leadership Team and key business stakeholders is critical in this role to prioritize objectives and to ensure reporting provides the necessary information and data to leadership so they may assist and unblock issues as needed to keep program plans and deliverables on track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Project Management Office and provide leadership and direction to the product leads for all elements  within the program
  • Guarantee that the Program is resourced appropriately from both internal and partner organizations
  • Develop and sustain the framework for the program management and governance of the ZBR Program to support the successful delivery of the program against critical success criteria (scope, cost, and schedule) and against the Company’s Golden Rules for Project Management.
  • Assure that Agile principles are incorporated where applicable.
  • Communicate program status and address program business issues with senior executives and develop reports and dashboards to address executives’ informational needs
  • Maintain the Value Realization Office that tracks cost, program benefits, and operational headwinds.
  • Interact with the front office, back office, and broader Customer and IT teams as well as key stakeholders within our Jurisdictional Organizations at the Company   on a regular basis to create awareness and advance program priorities
  • Develop and maintain controls to keep current with organizational changes, and to encourage constant program management improvement
  • Manage and mitigate risks to the business by ensuring consistency, accuracy, and competency across all initiatives under the PMO purview
  • Manage content included in executive presentations, such as the bi-weekly Executive Reviews, US Executive Committee, Group Executive Committee, and PLC Board
  • Prepare the necessary information and input to all regulatory questions, rate case submittals, or regulatory information requests
  • Support the implementation of the Company’s Project Golden Rules, and will transparently escalate issues and risks
  • Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
  • Excellent leadership, team management, influencing/negotiating, customer orientation, and communication skills, providing the ability to build and effectively manage/develop working relationships with staff at all levels.
  • Proven communication skills; both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, at all levels of management.

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of program or project management experience, and 5+ years leadership experience, preferably at the Director or Sr. Manager level.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the business-related field required;
  • Project Management Qualifications preferred
  • Demonstrated ability in relationship/stakeholder management to ensure mutually beneficial business outcomes
  • Agile experience
  • Strong oral/written communication skills, change management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including MS Project
