Devonshire Recruitment & Consulting Partners is seeking a skilled Systems Administration Engineer to join the Technical Services team for a leading financial organization. In this role, you will manage, maintain, and enhance the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring the availability, stability, and security of systems that support daily operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, experience in systems administration, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support infrastructure platforms, including Dell/HP servers, VMware (ESX, VRA, VDI), Rubrik, and Microsoft Active Directory/Exchange.
  • Oversee patching, backups, monitoring, and auditing systems to maintain platform health and security.
  • Provide day-to-day management and level 2 support for infrastructure and user platforms in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Handle data center hardware and vendor support tickets.
  • Lead team projects and user requests through Jira and Jira Service Desk, ensuring timely resolution and tracking.
  • Develop and enforce IT standards, policies, and best practices, focusing on security compliance and remediation.
  • Assist the Service Desk team with desktop, VDI, phone, and mobile device support as needed.
  • Respond to service desk requests promptly via chat, phone, email, or in person.
  • Support employee mobile devices through Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms.
  • Enhance documentation for troubleshooting and resolution procedures.
  • Participate in evening and weekend work for changes, patching, or critical updates as required.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in a technical support role within IT or development.
  • Hands-on experience with multiple industry-standard technology platforms, including:
    • Dell/HP/Cisco Servers, EMC hardware
    • Microsoft Windows and Exchange
    • VMware and VMware Horizon
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proven expertise in resolving complex issues across applications.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and build trust through strong job performance.
  • Experience as a technical lead, providing guidance and fostering professional growth among team members.
  • Proficiency in managing documentation, troubleshooting, and implementation processes.
